Designs of the Decade
1920's
The 33F16 "YLA" oil diesel engine is developed for industrial applications.
This 2 cycle engine was used for both stationary power generation and in ocean going tugs, freighters and fishing vessels.
The "YLA" was first offered at 100 H.P. per cylinder at 275 rpm. By 1944 it was improved to 200 H.P. per cylinder at 300 rpm.
The "YLA" proved to be such a useful engine that it was still being built and shipped in the 1950's, but was discontinued in the 1960's.
